Voice notes & recordings

Record a thought or a whole meeting. SortlyAI transcribes it and writes a summary with action items.

Voice notes turn talking into searchable, summarized library items. Record a quick memo or a full meeting; SortlyAI transcribes the audio and, on paid plans, writes a summary, key points, and action items.

Recording

  • Web dashboard: open Voice and record from the browser (microphone).
  • Mac: record from the Voice view or the menu-bar mic icon.
  • iPhone/iPad: record from the Voice tab.

Recording never starts on its own. You always tap the record button. While recording you can pause and resume, and you'll see a live transcript as you speak.

Templates

Pick a template that matches what you're recording: Memo, Meeting, or Idea. The template shapes how the AI summarizes the transcript afterward.

Type notes while you record

For meetings especially, jot key points in the My notes pane as you go. These typed notes are treated as your highest-signal input: when SortlyAI writes the summary, it blends them with the transcript. This is the core of the meeting suite.

What you get afterward

Once a recording is saved and transcribed:

  • A transcript you can read and tap to jump to any moment.
  • Pro An AI summary with key points and action items.
  • A follow-up email draft you can copy or open in your mail app (meeting template).

Manage your audio

You can delete the audio but keep the transcript on any voice note. It's handy for reclaiming storage while keeping the content searchable.

Sharing a recording

Mint a private, view-only link to a voice note so someone can read its summary and transcript without an account. Revoke the link any time. See Meeting suite for details.

Note

Voice minutes and transcription are metered by plan. Long recordings and Whisper transcription are paid-plan features; see Plans & pricing.
