Ask your library
One AI assistant that answers from everything you've saved, with citations back to the source.
Ask your library is a single chat that answers using your content: every bookmark, note, file, voice note, and highlight. It doesn't guess from the open web; it retrieves from your library and cites what it used.
Asking a question
Open the chat and ask something concrete:
- "What did I save about our competitor's pricing?"
- "Summarize the meeting with the design team."
- "Find the PDF where I highlighted the retention numbers."
The answer comes back with numbered citations. Each citation opens the item it came from. A bookmark opens its URL, a note or file opens in its section, a voice note opens the recording.
Where to find it
- Web dashboard: type your question in the field at the top of the library and press Ask (or ⌘ + Enter), or open Ask in the sidebar. It's also reachable from Voice Notes.
- Mac & iPad: the Ask AI entry in the sidebar.
- iPhone: from the library.
How it works (in brief)
SortlyAI keeps an embeddings index of your content: chunked transcripts, media digests, note bodies, file text, and highlights. When you ask a question, it retrieves the most relevant chunks across all item types, falls back to keyword matching when needed, and answers from those sources. That's why answers stay grounded in what you actually saved.
Message limits
Chat is metered per plan:
- Free: 5 messages / month (a taste).
- Trial: 25 / day.
- Pro: 100 / day.
- Premium: 300 / day.
The chat shows how many questions you have left. See Plans & pricing.
Tip
The more you highlight and organize, the sharper the answers, because highlights and summaries are dense, high-signal chunks the retriever loves.
