Notes

Capture thoughts as standalone markdown notes, on their own or linked to a bookmark.

Notes are for the things you write yourself: a quick thought, a summary, a to-do, or long-form markdown. They're first-class library items, so they're searchable, taggable, filable into collections, and available to Ask your library.

Creating a note

  • In the web dashboard, open the Notes section and start a new note.
  • On the Mac app, press ⌘⇧N or use the Notes view.
  • On iPhone/iPad, use the Notes tab.

Notes support markdown: headings, lists, links, code, and inline text highlights. Give a note a title so it's easy to find later; untitled notes still save and search fine.

Linking a note to a bookmark

A note can be attached to a bookmark, which is useful for keeping your commentary next to the source. Attached notes still appear in the Notes section and in search on their own.

Pinning

Pin the notes you reach for often so they float to the top of the list.

Tags & collections

Notes carry their own tags and can live in a collection alongside bookmarks, files, and recordings. On paid plans, AI can suggest tags from a note's content.

Note

Notes without a link become plain library entries; a forwarded email with no link also lands as a note tagged email. See Save by email.
