Extension Issues

Extension icon doesn't appear in toolbar

Solution 1: Check if the extension is enabled

  1. Go to chrome://extensions/
  2. Find "SortlyAI" in the list
  3. Make sure the toggle switch is ON (blue)

Solution 2: Pin the extension to toolbar

  1. Click the puzzle piece icon in your toolbar
  2. Find "SortlyAI" and click the pin icon next to it
  3. The extension icon should now appear in your toolbar

Extension popup shows error or won't load

Try these steps:

  1. Refresh the current page and try again
  2. Close and reopen the extension popup
  3. Check your internet connection
  4. Try logging out and back in through the extension
  5. If problem persists, remove and reinstall the extension

Note: Your bookmarks are safe in the cloud and will sync back after reinstalling.

Can't sign in through extension

Solution:

  1. Try signing in through the web dashboard first
  2. Once signed in to the dashboard, click the extension icon
  3. The extension should automatically detect your login
  4. If not, click "Sign In" in the extension and use the same credentials

Dashboard Issues

Bookmarks not loading or showing as empty

Try these solutions:

  1. Refresh the page (Ctrl+R or Cmd+R)
  2. Clear your browser cache and cookies for sortlyai.app
  3. Try logging out and back in
  4. Check if you're using the correct account
  5. Try accessing from a different browser or incognito mode

Search not working or returning no results

Check these things:

  • Make sure you're spelling keywords correctly
  • Try broader search terms
  • Clear any active tag filters
  • Check if you have bookmarks that match your search
  • Try searching for just one word at a time

Can't edit or delete bookmarks

Possible causes and solutions:

  • Free plan limit: If you have 20+ bookmarks, upgrade to Pro or delete some first
  • Connection issue: Check your internet connection
  • Browser issue: Try refreshing the page or using a different browser
  • Account issue: Make sure you're signed in to the correct account

Account & Billing

Forgot password or can't access account

Reset your password:

  1. Go to the login page
  2. Click "Forgot Password?"
  3. Enter your email address
  4. Check your email for a password reset link
  5. Follow the instructions to create a new password

Pro features not working after upgrade

Wait and refresh:

  • Pro features can take up to 5 minutes to activate
  • Try refreshing the dashboard page
  • Sign out and sign back in
  • Check your billing confirmation email

Dashboard loading slowly

Optimize performance:

  • Close other browser tabs to free up memory

Speed up the extension:

  • Restart your browser
  • Update the extension to the latest version
  • Disable other extensions temporarily
  • Clear browser cache

Data & Privacy

Missing bookmarks or data sync issues

Sync your data:

  • Make sure you're signed in to the same account everywhere
  • Check your internet connection
  • Try refreshing the page or restarting the extension
  • Wait a few minutes for sync to complete
